KUDOS From Teepa Snow and the Positive Approach to Care Online Journal

JUST RECEIVED THIS REGARDING MY RECENTLY PUBLISHED ARTICLE IN THE "POSITIVE APPROACH TO CARE ONLINE ALZHEIMER'S JOURNAL."
Hi Michael!
How wonderful it is to hear from you!
I cannot thank you enough for your contribution of such a touching piece for our online dementia journal.
I was able to check in with our administrator and she said that "His click-through rate was around 14%. The national average is around 9% so it looks like he got some folks interested." How awesome!
Thank you so very much for all that you are and all that you do!
Heather

Teepa Snow's "Positive Approach to Brain Change: Online Dementia Journal

I wrote an article about Gregory and my journey with Dementia/ Alzheimer's which just appeared in Teepa Snow's POSITIVE APPROACH TO BRAIN CHANGE online journal. Click this link to read it:

Positive Approach to Brain Change Online Dementia Journal (ODJ) is a free monthly e-newsletter designed for families and professional care partners who are looking to grow their awareness and knowledge in order to provide better care for people living with dementia.

Each edition of the ODJ contains articles for daily living and videos that demonstrate hands-on skills. The ODJ also serves as a great way to receive updates on when and where you can see Teepa and her Team. All of the articles in the ODJ are created by Teepa Snow, the Positive Approach to Care team, and it's affiliates so that you get the latest news on developing programs, training tools, and advocacy efforts/ideas from around the world.

Teepa Snow is one of the leading educators on dementia and the care that accompanies it, in the US and Canada. As an occupational therapist with forty years of clinical practice, she has founded a company and an approach to support and engage people experiencing changes in brain function.

This Positive Approach® to Care emphasizes making use of the skills retained while providing support and substituting our skill, for what is no longer available. This belief led to Teepa creating the GEMS® States model for brain change.

The GEMS model compares people to gemstones and focuses on retained abilities in order for us to see what is beautiful, and still available, for the person with whom we share time and offer support and care.
