HINT POETRY

HINT FICTION is fun to play with because you have to create a full fiction story in 25 words. Sometimes they begin to create themselves as I am drifting off to sleep.


Well maybe I have just invented HINT POETRY:


A Few
Is a few to many?

How many might a couple be?

Are several more than enough?

Fun to play with, don't you agree?

HINT FICTION: Sage

Sage landed on my extended finger. I stroked his soft blue green feathers. He gently pecked my nose. I loved him and he loved me. 


Word count: 25. Motivated by a dream I had last night.


SAGE: 1) North American plant with silvery-gray leaves, 2) fresh or dried spice used in cooking, 3) an aromatic plant that is burned by some American Indian people for its cleansing properties and as an incense, 4) a profoundly wise man, esp. one who features in ancient history or legend, 5) having, showing, or indicating profound wisdom.

HINT FICTION: Alzheimers

He was pondering the medicine chest.

"Toothbrush?" I answered unasked.

Right. More pondering.

"Toothpaste?" I answered unasked.

Their love was strong then it waned. He came home drunk and she protested. He struck out. She fell. Her head, the radiator, the end.

Winter needs be over. Driving home, dark already for an hour at 5:30, I realized come summer we would have still three hours of daylight.

Some nights are like a train wreck with each crumpled car a new dream. Luckily by morning the tracks were cleared.

We snuck into the closed store to  steel a few jelly beans. Now open, we waited on customers so as not to get caught.

I fell for the love seat. Painful, yes, I picked my bruised self up, vowing never to fall on or for the love seat again.

HINT FICTION: Flashing Yellow

FLASHING YELLOW
A yellow light flashed on my dashboard telling me my wheels were skidding, as if I didn't know. Then I saw the yellow school bus.

DEFINITION: Hint fiction, a full story in 25 or fewer words

ON WAKING
Sitting at bedside, wrestling with reality as well as the sheets, I wondered was the dream real or was real a dream?

HINT FICTION: Snoring

SNORING
I poke Gregory, "Roll over. You're snoring." Now the cat.
