Slowing Down

Slowing down enough
To sway in the breeze through the greenest of palms
To float on the air through the wispy most edges of cloud
To ride with the waves through the lightest blue of water surface
To be with the wind, the birds, the fish.

Slowing down enough
To feel the sun on my face
To smell the Bougainvillea on the trellis
To taste the Guayaba scooped clean of seeds
To be in touch with my senses.

Slowing down enough
Spending time in Puerto Vallarta
With my love, though he struggles
No ought or should or must
Aware, Feeling, Enjoying.
