Seeking Rotten Lemons

Secreting themselves on the back shelf,
Yellow lemons, growing green,
Hide from view in the refrigerator.

Hidden at the back of my mind,
Growing older, yellow lemons,
Go unnoticed in my own refrigerator.

Little did I think, that so soon,
Conspiring against me, yellow lemons,
Growing green in my own refrigerator.
