We have begun labeling them: Nice, Pretty, Wow! Amazing, Look At That, and OMG can apply to beautifully done lighting as well as UGLY! Also Not Nice, Why Bother, Yuck.
We have a second tier of labels which include: Tasteful, Tasteless, and Taste-free.
Silliest so far: One house with a life size light up nativity, three snowmen, and seven life size light up Santa Clauses. What will the children think?
Nicest so far: Heavily laid christmas lights on all of the bushes around a house, three huge evergreens done that same way, the house eves and peaked roof outlined as well, the wreath on the door light and tied with a red ribbon. All lights are white Italian lights. None blinking.
P.S. The attached video is not from this year but pretty amazing.
