Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)

All items made in and purchased over the years on trips to Puerto Vallarta. (Special thanks to Susan Wiseman and David Lord of Casa de los Arcos, a guest house in PV) Dia de los Muertos takes place on November 1 & 2, mostly in Mexico but also other Spanish speaking countries, when it is believed that our ancestors are granted permission to come back spiritually to visit us. Favorite items, food, flowers, etc are artistically decorated in the form of family shrines (offerendas.) Celebrations also take place in the cemetery with flowers and thousands of candles lighting up family picnics.
