DeleteSometimes you see parents who try to shield children from experiencing grief by keeping them away from funerals, and grandparents' passing and the like. Children need to learn respect for the dead and the bereaved at an early age and how to comfort. They need to learn to approach classmates who have lost a parent or sibling rather than shunning them because they 'don't know what to say.' They don't have to say anything, just be there.
