El Indio

El Indio is a little, hole in the wall grocery store which is less than one block from where I am staying. They open early and close late and the line at the single cash register is always backed up. But this is Mexico my friend and waiting becomes easy (and probably less stressful and more healthy!)

The prices are Mexican for Mexicans and the same for me even though I am a tourist. For example a banana is 1 peso MX - 5¢ U.S. The other night we had dinner out and a beef taco cost 10 pesos MX or 50¢ U.S.
