A Conversation With Gregory

STORIES FOR THE TIMES:

I am easy to let it be known that I have conversations with Gregory (RIP), my love, fairly often. And yes he talks with me as easily as I talk with him! After 41+ years together how can he not still play an important part in my life?

Meanwhile, the other night I had a conversation with him about the COVID 19 state of things: how it is affecting me, how it is affecting those I love, and how sad for so many people in the world.

This was his reply,

"None of this really matters in the long run. We are born, we live, we die, and we do stuff in-between.

"How easy it has been or how difficult it has been doesn't really matter because we all end up in the same place. Obviously, it is better if we lived being good to others and being good to ourselves, but in the end, we all die.

"Obvious it is better to have an easy death than to have a difficult and/or prolonged death but in the end, it doesn't matter. We all die.

"So be happy to be alive today and hopefully tomorrow and know that eventually you will die and that is OK! Try to live with SIMPLICITY, PATIENCE, and COMPASSION for others and for yourself, LOVE and BE LOVED but in the end, we will all die and that is OK.
